In Tabula Peuthingeriana the roman station is represented with the inscription Cazalet. Novadays this ancient castrum is localized near village of Poroj, municipality of Pomorie. From essential interest is the meaning of the name? The mountain region after roman invasion remnants of military resistance of odrysians. After the anouncement of Thracia for roman province the initial puncts of the mountain passages are more enforcing with roman military presence. That is the more possible explanation of the concerning toponyme. Cazalet originates from roman word casa, which mean camp shack and roman expression "letata corpora" and letum - death. In that sense this toponyme means "the camp shack of the death".
The greek name of the castrum is Carsaleon in the cart of the anonyme geograph from Ravennae. Carsaleon probably is a unknown greek adjective word καρσαλεος(κερσαλεος) for "swart, pernicious, homicidal" from the verb κείρω- kill, destroy, exterminate and his derivate κέρσας. Autor: D.V.Georgieff
